Rescues across Canada & the United States

Every rescue deserves
a great first impression.

Most shelter pets are judged on a photo taken through kennel bars in bad light on a stressful day. We give them a real portrait — one that shows who they actually are. Free to the rescue, always. And every dollar donated goes straight to vet bills for animals in rescue across North America.

A photo is the only thing
most adopters ever see.

Before anyone meets a dog, they scroll past it. The intake photo is the entire pitch — and it's usually taken in a hurry, in a concrete room, by someone with forty more to get through. A frightened animal in a bad photo reads as a frightened animal. A well-photographed one reads as family.

Same dog. Completely different outcome.

How it works

Three parties. Nobody pays
who can't afford to.

01

The rescue

Gets a full portrait session for its adoptable animals at zero cost. No invoice, no minimum, no budget line to defend to a board. Edited galleries come back the next day at noon — timed so you can post the moment social feeds are busiest.

02

The sponsor

A pet brand or local business funds the session and gets the content. Real photography of real animals they helped, with their name on the work — plus credit across every gallery, post and adoption listing the shoot produces.

03

The pet

Walks into a calm room, gets treats and time, and leaves with a portrait that makes somebody stop scrolling. That's the whole point. Everything else here exists to make this part happen more often.

Support the work

Donations go straight to vet bills.

Not overheads, not equipment — veterinary care for animals in rescue across Canada and the United States. Every contribution is listed publicly on our supporters wall, and rescues can apply directly for help with a bill.

For shelters & rescues

Bring Pet Rescue Portraits
to your rescue.

We're booking sessions across Canada and the United States. Tell us about your organisation and we'll get in touch as sponsorship opens up in your region.

See what's included

Applying doesn't guarantee a session — we match rescues to sponsors region by region, and we'll always tell you honestly where you stand.

For brands & businesses

Put your name on
the reason they got adopted.

Sponsorship funds a shoot — and produces a library of professional animal photography your marketing team can actually use. Cause marketing that comes with the assets attached.

Photographers & volunteers

We can only be in
one city at a time.

If you can light a subject and stay calm around a nervous animal, there's a rescue near you that needs exactly that. Handlers, assistants and editors too — a session runs on more than the person behind the lens.

About

The photographer
behind it.

I'm Kevin Sarasom. I've spent twenty years as a cinematographer and photographer, most of it shooting commercially for fashion and lifestyle brands — and the last ten pointing that same lighting, direction and editorial eye at dogs, through my studio Off Leash Studio.

I've photographed more than 15,000 dogs for private clients across Los Angeles, New York, Toronto and London, and run brand activations for Mercedes-Benz, Saks Fifth Avenue and The Body Shop. My specialty is reading a dog in minutes — what motivates them, what overwhelms them, and how to get the exact expression you'd recognise at home.

Pet Rescue Portraits is where that goes to work for the animals nobody is commissioning portraits of. Off Leash Studio tours North America — Toronto, Vancouver, San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Diego, Austin — and wherever the studio lands, rescues in that city get sessions free.

If you run a rescue, or you run a brand that would rather fund something real than buy another stock photo — let's talk.
